Jonathan Dunne, Consultant Plastic Surgeon - London

Mr Jonathan Dunne FRCS is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with fifteen years of experience, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, NHS Consultant at Imperial, the largest NHS Trust in the UK and one of the leading hospitals globally, and clinical lead for its skin cancer service. He founded the Imperial Facial Reconstruction Centre, a multi-speciality collaborative that exists because complex facial cases deserve more than a single-discipline approach. He co-authored the Oxford Handbook of Head & Neck Anatomy. He has more than sixty publications and book chapters to his name. He trained in facial surgery across Melbourne, Boston and Stockholm, completing specialist fellowships in craniofacial and aesthetic surgery, eyelid surgery, Mohs surgery reconstruction, head and neck microvascular surgery, and facial palsy.

He also spent six months in Malawi treating burns, cleft lip and palate, trauma and facial reconstruction, and continues to support and train surgeons in resource-poor settings on a monthly basis as Trustee of the Malawi Burns Trust and the British Foundation for International Reconstructive Surgery and Training.

The brief was to build a website that held all of this without collapsing under the weight of it.

Jonathan came to us having done no digital marketing previously. The practice, based at Montrose London, his co-founded clinic at 19 West Eaton Place in Belgravia, described by Women's Health magazine as perhaps the most luxurious aesthetics clinic in London, was growing through reputation alone. The website needed to formalise that reputation and make it findable.

The challenge was structural. Jonathan's work spans three genuinely distinct territories: aesthetic facial surgery (facelifts, blepharoplasty, brow lifts, fat transfer, BBL/Halo laser, Morpheus8, injectables); facial reconstruction following cancer, trauma or asymmetry (microvascular surgery, eyelid, nose and ear reconstruction, facial paralysis surgery); and skin cancer and suspicious lesions (melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, Mohs surgery reconstruction, sentinel lymph node biopsy). Most plastic surgeons operate in one of these spaces. Jonathan operates across all three, and the website had to communicate that breadth without making any single patient feel they'd arrived at the wrong address.

The design is exactly what the brief requested: monochrome, neutral, and considered. Nothing loud. No gratuitous photography. The tone reflects the practitioner: warm, precise, and quietly confident rather than promotional. A dedicated global health section, a research section, and press coverage of Montrose sit alongside the clinical content, because Jonathan was clear from the outset that he didn't want a website solely about private work. The whole person, the surgeon, the researcher, the educator, the global health advocate, needed to be visible.

The result is a site that reflects a practice built on substance rather than noise. For patients navigating a concerning diagnosis or considering a significant surgical procedure, that matters more than almost anything else.
