Dr Kian Plastic Surgery - Manchester & Cheshire

Dr Kian came to us on recommendation, introduced by another consultant we were already working with. A warm referral, but one that carries its own weight. The expectation is set before the first conversation.

Mr Kian Tan is a UK-trained Consultant Plastic & Cosmetic Surgeon on the GMC Specialist Register, a full member of BAAPS and BAPRAS, and Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon of the Year (UK) for two consecutive years, 2023 and 2024. Before that, Best Consultant Plastic & Cosmetic Surgeon (North West) for four years running. His higher specialist training was completed in Manchester, followed by two prestigious BAAPS Cosmetic Surgery Fellowships in London and Sydney. He is regularly invited to lecture at international conferences across Europe and Asia. He is Director of the award-winning Lumiere Clinics, CQC-registered medical and aesthetic clinics based in Manchester and Cheshire.

The brief had to match the standing.

Plastic surgery is one of the most competitive sectors in private healthcare. Patients research deeply before they ever make contact. They compare surgeons across multiple sites, read reviews, study results, and assess credentials with a thoroughness that other healthcare categories rarely see. A website in this space has to do three things well: inform thoroughly, convert quietly, and earn the call. The design can't oversell. The credentials can't be buried. And every treatment needs room to be understood rather than merely listed.

We built the site on WordPress, the only sensible answer for a practice of this scale, with this breadth of content, and this long a commercial horizon. Large sites with multiple treatment categories, results galleries, a knowledge base, news and patient resources all require editorial flexibility and SEO foundations that hold up over the years. Anything less is a compromise that the practice would eventually feel.

The architecture is structured around how patients actually navigate a surgical decision: by body area first, by concern second. Face covers blepharoplasty, facelift and necklift, fat transfer, ear corrective surgery and Asian eyelid surgery. Breast includes enlargement, reduction, uplift, fat transfer and implant removal or replacement. Body covers tummy tuck, liposuction, arm lift and mummy makeover. Skin handles mole removal and skin cancer surgery. Non-surgical includes wrinkle reduction, dermal fillers and Tixel skin tightening. A dedicated Conditions section maps concern to procedure for patients who arrive knowing what's bothering them but not yet what surgery it points to.

Each treatment page carries the depth patients expect at this level. The consultation journey is laid out step by step: consultation, treatment, and aftercare, because a patient considering surgery is not just choosing a procedure. They are choosing a person to trust with something significant, and the site has to earn that trust before the phone rings.

Awards and qualifications are present throughout, without being shouted. In this category, trust is built through consistency rather than volume. The results galleries do the work that words can't. The reviews, patients describing a surgeon who rang the night of their operation to check they were well, who made them feel genuinely cared for rather than processed, say more about the practice than any credential.
