Milan Skin Clinic - Reading

There are clinics that occupy a building. Milan Skin Clinic makes a statement.

The Maltings on Fobney Street in Reading is a magnificent period building overlooking the River Kennet, the kind of setting that signals, before a client has stepped inside, that what follows won't feel like a standard appointment. The brief that came to us was ambitious from the start: modern, high-end, luxury. A clinic founded on the creative vision of medical consultants and professionals who believed that Reading deserved something it didn't yet have.

The team they assembled reflected that ambition. Consultant doctors holding NHS appointments, with levels of qualification that most aesthetic clinics in the country can't match. A lead aesthetics practitioner with over eight years of advanced skin expertise and Advanced Skin Expert status with Dermalogica UK. A doctor undertaking a Level 7 certificate in Injectable Aesthetic Medicine, the postgraduate equivalent of a master's degree, and the highest achievable qualification in cosmetic medicine in the UK. Nurses from the Harley Academy. Practitioners trained in anti-ageing medicine, dermatology, laser procedures, and non-surgical facial aesthetics. The depth of clinical expertise here wasn't incidental; it was the whole argument for why Milan existed.

The website had to hold all of that, and it had to hold something else too: a fully integrated ecommerce platform selling Dermalogica skincare alongside the clinic's treatments. That combination, clinic and shop, consultation and product, in-person care and at-home regimen, is something most aesthetic websites don't attempt. Milan's philosophy demands it. The consultation identifies the concerns, the treatments address them, and the skincare range sustains the results. The site needed to make that journey feel natural rather than transactional.

The design answer was a cool white palette with precise, editorial typography, clean enough to let the photography do its work, confident enough to signal a clinic that doesn't need to shout. The treatment photography, shot at the clinic, captures what a specification sheet never could: the quality of the equipment, the professionalism of the team, the specific atmosphere of a period building given a thoroughly modern clinical interior.

Navigation runs across treatments by face, body and skin concern, Dermalogica facials, microneedling, chemical peels, laser hair removal, laser thread vein treatment, HIFU, cryolipolysis, injectables, alongside a shop that integrates seamlessly with the clinical offer rather than sitting separate from it. A skin analysis consultation pathway was built in from the outset, because Milan's approach to every new client begins with understanding before prescribing.

The result is a site considered as the clinic it represents, and a digital presence finally equal to what was always happening inside the building.
